Why AI-Built Apps Break

AI coding tools are genuinely good at producing a working demo fast. Production is a different game, and the same failure patterns show up again and again:

  • No real data design. The demo stored everything in whatever was easiest. Real usage exposes missing relationships, duplicate records, and nowhere safe to put anything.
  • Authentication gaps. Login works for the happy path and falls apart on password resets, expired sessions, or multiple user roles.
  • Unreviewed generated code. Thousands of lines nobody read. It works until it does not, and then nobody knows why.

Audit. We read the actual code — all of it — and give you a straight report: what is solid, what is broken, what is a risk waiting to happen, and what it will take to fix. The audit is available on its own if you just want the truth about where you stand before deciding anything.

Stabilize. We fix what is broken, starting with whatever hurts most: data integrity, authentication, crashes, the workflows your users actually touch. We fix the existing code where it is sound and rewrite only the parts that are not. You get an app that works, not a lecture about how it should have been built.

Ship. We get the app deployed properly — real hosting, backups, error monitoring, and a deployment process that does not involve crossing your fingers. You end up with software you can show customers and keep building on. Once it is stable, many clients connect it to the rest of their operation with AI automation.

My app was built in Lovable / Bolt / v0 / Replit. Can you fix it?+

Usually, yes. These tools produce real code, and in most cases the core of the app is salvageable — the problems are in the data design, authentication, error handling, and the accumulated patch layers. The audit tells us exactly what shape it is in. Occasionally an app is so tangled that rebuilding the broken parts is cheaper than untangling them; if that is yours, we will say so plainly and quote the rebuild instead of billing you for a rescue that cannot work.

What does the rescue process look like?+

Three phases: audit, stabilize, ship. The audit (one to two weeks) produces a written report of everything wrong and what each fix costs. You approve the fix list, we stabilize the app — fixing data issues, auth, crashes, and broken workflows — and then we ship it to proper hosting with monitoring and backups. You can stop after the audit and take the report to anyone; there is no obligation to have us do the fixes.

Do you rewrite the whole app or fix what is there?+

We fix what is there. Rewriting everything is the expensive answer and it is rarely necessary. We keep every part of your app that works, repair the parts that do not, and rewrite only the pieces that are structurally unsound — usually the data layer or authentication. The goal is a working app at a rescue price, not a from-scratch project at a from-scratch price. If you do want new features after the rescue, that becomes a normal custom AI development project.

How much does app rescue cost?+

Rescue projects start from $2,000 CAD, fixed price after the audit — you approve the number before any fix work begins. The audit itself is a separate fixed fee that gets credited toward the rescue if you proceed. Our pricing is typically about half what a traditional agency charges for comparable work. Will you work with code my team wrote, not just AI-generated code?+

Yes. The rescue process is the same either way: read everything, report honestly, fix what is broken. Human-written prototypes and MVPs stall for the same reasons AI-built ones do — they were built to demo, not to last. We are not precious about whose code it is; we care whether it can be made to work.

What if the app cannot be saved?+

Then we tell you that, and the audit report shows you exactly why — with enough detail to take to any other developer for a second opinion. You pay only for the audit, not for a rescue attempt. This happens less often than people fear, but we would rather lose the fix work than bill you for pretending a dead app can be revived.
