AI Alberta (“we”, “us”) is an AI automation and software studio based in Edmonton, Alberta. This policy explains what personal information we collect through aialbertas.com, why, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
The short version: we only collect what we need to reply to you and run the site. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email, the service you're interested in, and your message.
- Fit quiz: your answers (goal, team size, department or project type, tools, timing, budget range), plus the name, email and optional phone, company, city and note you give us on the last step.
- Quiz progress: as you answer each quiz question we record the answer with a random session ID, so we can see which questions people find confusing. This record does not include your name or email unless you finish and submit.
- Accounts: if you sign up, your email, name and an encrypted password, plus anything you post in the community or coffee-chat requests.
- Usage data: through Google Analytics, the pages you visit, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and approximate location (city level). See Cookies.
How we use it
- To reply to you, prepare a quote, and deliver work you hire us for.
- To understand which pages and quiz questions help visitors, so we can improve the site.
- To run your account and keep the site secure.
We don't sell, rent or trade personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who helps us run the site
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms:
- Supabase: our database and sign-in system, hosted in Canada (Montréal region).
- Resend: delivers form and quiz notifications to our inbox.
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Google Analytics: measures site usage.
Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to law enforcement under local law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and quiz submissions for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client. Client records are kept as long as needed to deliver the work and as required by law (for example, Canada Revenue Agency record-keeping rules). Anonymous quiz progress data is kept in aggregate.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email us at hello@aialbertas.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and access to stored enquiries is limited to our team. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page. Questions? Email hello@aialbertas.com, call +1 587-987-0039, or use our contact page.
